i regret the absence of wts apolgists in recent months.

they kept this board alive with their ridiculous statements.

but now it seems that they have all gone away.. assuredly they are all still lurking here (hello) to see what we are talking about but they can no longer claim their time posting here as field work.

as a witness, most if not all of my friends were married by 18, with many woman married by 17. it was so normal, that when i left the religion and met all these people married in their 20's and later, that it seemed like they were starting late.

i actually was a late person in getting married, i was 23. i remember being one of the few people my age in the congregation, not married yet.

i actually remember thinking, where am i going to find someone to marry, that is not yet taken.

There's one at my KH in his mid 30's who's been ogling my daughter since she was 15, introduced himself, sat near us (uninvited). ugh! I just want to kick him.

Get a friendly brother to have a word with him or strike up a conversation with him about paedophiles and dirty old men in the world. He should get the hint

Were you ever scared of going to prison as a JW?...

i remember growing up a jw and always being told that someday the goverment would turn on us and throw us in prison.. i was watching a documentary on national geographic about san quinton prison and it brought back old memories of those fears.. i remember thinking how scared i would be if i had to go to prison and what i could do to protect myself.

i would think of how i could just stay in my cell all the time so no one could hurt me.

especially after seeing stories on the news about riots and rapes and people getting stabbed.. leave it to the jw's to make a kid worry about going to prison.

We were told we'd end up in concentration camps. A horrible enough idea but even worse for this lovely elderly sister that was in my congregation. She was German and went through the whole of the second war fighting for the wrong side. We talked about her experiences quite a lot and I can tell you she was REALLY terrified of ending up in anything like a concentration camp.

Chris Mitchell she was like a grandmother to me... I miss her.

When I was like 9 years old I shoplifted some "garbage pail kid" cards and got caught

I remember seeing those cards get slammed in an awake for being Satanic. not only did you steal but you stole "satanic" cards lol you were lucky they never stoned you in the car park

Oh we all know how they twist words, what they really mean by "the preaching has stopped" is that people have stopped listening, baptism of newbies has dropped to a trickle in 20 countries. You cant preach if no ones listening.
